Budget Saving Yogurt Parfait

Yogurt, made by using active, good needed by the body's digestive tract. These good bacteria called probiotics helps maintain the natural balance of organisms (microflora) in the intestines. My kids loves to eat yogurt anytime of the day and one way to serve them is a healthy yogurt parfait. Fresh berries are too costly, so I got some alternative ingredients that is way cheaper but taste delicious.


  • plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar or honey
  • fruit cocktail  or sliced fresh strawberries
  • granola

  1. Drain the fruit cocktail well.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt heavy cream and vanilla. Stir well.
  3. Sprinkle the yogurt mixture with brown sugar. Do not stir. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. When are ready to serve, spoon 2-3 tablespoons of yogurt into each glass or cup, place a small handful of fruits, granola. 
  5. Repeat the layers once, ending with fruits and granolas on top.
  6. You can add a bit of honey or strawberry syrup to taste.
