How to eat and serve caviar

  • Caviar should be serve cold.
  • Take the caviar out of the refrigerator 10-15 minutes before serving.  
  • Always served caviar in a fine porcelain dish  or just keep it on the original jar or tin, on a bed of crushed ice.
  • Use enamel spoon, mother of pearl, wood, plastic but never on a metallic or silver spoon or it will create an unwanted metallic taste.
  • Serve caviar as an entree or appetizer course.
  • To appreciate the texture and flavor of caviar,  burst the eggs with the tip of your tongue against your palate to release the flavor in your mouth.
  • Caviar should be scooped vertically from top to bottom to avoid crushing the eggs.
  • Take only 1 -2 teaspoonfuls of caviar  when served  as an hors d'oeuvre.
  • If caviar is passed to you in a bowl,serve a teaspoonful onto your plate.It is consider incorrect to take large portions at a single time.
  • Eat simply.You can spread a teaspoon over a toasted bread or cracker.
  • Don't add spices like salt, pepper or herbs to caviar. 
  • An ice cold vodka is best the best drink for fresh caviar because of its neutral taste.but some prefer a glass of champagne.It depends on your preference.Try to avoid drinks that will overwhelm the flavor of the caviar.
  • Consume uneaten caviar within 3 days of opening.

  4. Ang shala naman kainin ng caviar. Kelangan pa talaga porcelana ang plato. At bawal ang PG...kelangan konti lang ang kagatin. Natuwa naman ako sa listahan. Dami ko natututunan. Pagmaypagkakataon na makain ako nito, di na ko magmukhang jologs kasi marunong na ko kung pano. Salamat sa post na ito. :)

  8. I tried eating caviar twice. I just dont know why it is so precious and expensive. Ill rather eat isang buong lechon, kesa sa caviar. Hehehe. O nilagang itlog na lang. :)

  13. i'm allergic to fish, so can't have caviar. but in Sweden I ate something in tubes bigger than the huge toothpaste tubes and my host said it is caviar. maybe just flavor or something.

  20. I've not eaten or even tasted this unfertilized fish eggs a.k.a. caviar. This is the first that I know this. I could imagine its rarity and its price is too high.
