Broccoli Oriental

My husband got me some cookbook when he came back from vacation. One of them is the Better Homes and gardens New Cook Book. I tried the broccoli  but instead of frozen I used the fresh one, omit the sesame seed and added onion instead.

Broccoli Oriental

Ingredients:
  • 1 small head broccoli ,cut into florets
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 small onion ,cut into rings
  • 2 tsp sesame seed, toasted
Direction:

1. For frozen broccoli, cook according to package directions. Drain, keep warm. For fresh broccoli, blanch it in boiling water with a tsp of salt. Drain.
2. Combine soy sauce, butter, sugar, onion rings and water.
3. Heat till butter melts.
4. Pour over broccoli, top with sesame seeds (optional)
