Spring roll is one of the appetizer that is so easy to do. You don't have to be a good cook to make it. As long as you know how to saute and fry, you are good to go. Here is my mothers recipe, she always use tokwa/tofu and it really tastes good.
Spring Roll Ingredients:
- onion chopped
- garlic minced
- carrot, julienne cut
- green beans, julienne cut
- sweet potato and/or potato, julienne cut
- bean sprout
- salt and pepper to taste
- tokwa/tofu diced
- 1 chicken cube
- In a hot oil, saute garlic, onion and tofu.
- Add all the vegetables, tofu, little water, chicken cube, Stir well.
- Season with salt and pepper according to your taste.
- Let boil until half cook.
- Put in a strainer to drain.
How to wrap:
- Prepare the spring roll wrapper.
- Put one tablespoon of vegetable mix on the wrapper.
- Spread it lengthwise and roll make sure to fold both ends.
- Seal by dipping your finger in water and paste it at the end of the wrapper.
- Deep fry until golden brown. Place in a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve with vinegar or sweet chili sauce.
